Scotts Valley Performing Arts presents a 2014 Youth Shakespeare Program: “The Trader from Tau Cetia” (based on “The Merchant of Venice”). The play will be performed July 18 – 20. An informational meeting April 8: 7 – 8 p.m. St. Phillip the Apostle Episcopal Church, 5271 Scotts Valley Dr., Scotts Valley. Workshops begin the week of April 14 with auditions and rehearsals to follow later in April The production is to be directed by longtime Santa Cruz director, playwright and actor Rita Wadsworth, and is open to youth between the ages of 6 and 20. - Show young people how this body of work has influenced our common English speaking culture
- Educate young people in the basic vocabulary and culture of theater
