A new name but same great fundraiser
SANTA CRUZ – On Saturday, March 7, the Santa Cruz AIDS Project (SCAP) presents the newly branded AIDS Walk and Fun Run (previously known as the AIDS Walk). Early bird registration is $25; same-day registration is $30. Participants are asked to fundraise a minimum of $100, which will help SCAP continue to provide care, prevention, and advocacy programs in Santa Cruz County. For those unable to participate, donations in any amount are welcome and can be made through our website. Register online at www.santacruzaidswalk.com.
Start: San Lorenzo Benchlands Park (behind the County Building). Registration begins 9:30 a.m.; 5K run starts 10:15 a.m.; 5K walk starts 10:30 a.m. Costumes welcome.
The AIDS Walk & Fun Run promises a memorable morning complete with delicious food, music, costumes, and a raffle. The route takes runners and walkers through a safe route along the river levee and ends back at San LorenzoBenchlands Park. Once finished, participants will be greeted with music and refreshments. Since this is a fun run, we encourage participants to wear costumes to increase the event’s energy and amusement.
SCAP is a community organization that provides compassionate services, support, and advocacy to people in Santa Cruz County living with HIV/AIDS. SCAP also works to decrease HIV transmission, eradicate stigma, and raise awareness of issues surrounding HIV/AIDS through education and prevention programs.
